All children, from birth to when they finish compulsory education, have to be licensed when working in television, films, theatre, modelling and certain sporting activities, under the Children and Young Persons Act 1963, the Children (Performances) Regulations 1968 and the Television Act 1964.
A Child Performance and Modelling Licence is needed for a child when a performance has been arranged by their agent.
Child performers must be supervised by parents, legal guardians or licensed chaperones.
A child will also need an agent to organise and arrange performances and payments made to the child for the work they do.
Our Access and Attendance Team are responsible for issuing entertainment (also known as performance) licences for children who live in Barking and Dagenham.
About Performance/Entertainment licences.
Parents, legal guardians or licensed must supervise a child or young person who works in entertainment.
