We carried out an Equalities and Diversity Impact Assessment on our Private Sector Housing Strategy, between January 2004 and May 2005.

The assessment describes the condition of the private sector housing stock in the borough and identifies the issues relating to delivering our housing policy objectives.

It particularly relates to our aim of providing 'a decent home and living environment for everyone, supporting the borough's economic and social regeneration'.

The Strategy was also a response to the Audit Commission's Best Value Inspection of the private sector housing service, which identified the 'need for clear direction and policy'.

Financial implication

Financial assistance is provided through the Private Sector Housing Capital Budget.
