This report shows the process and the results of the impact assessment carried out on the Home Ownership Team in Housing Business Services.
The Home Ownership Team is responsible for meeting our responsibilities under the Right to Buy and provide a single point of contact for leaseholders issues.
We deal with tenants' application under the Right to Buy and Rent to Mortgage legislation, advises on Right to Buy / Rent to Mortgage process, provides a single point of contact for leaseholders, advises on leaseholders' rights and obligations, calculates and dispatches service charge accounts to leaseholders.
This report assesses the impact of this team and the implementation of polices / procedures to administer service charges and process Right to Buy applications.
Issues identified
- No variance by ethnicity on satisfaction with service, service from staff and level of information
- Significantly less satisfaction by black and minority ethnics with opportunities to participate in management and decision making
- Data collated does not cover disability, gender, ethnicity and age
Financial implications
There are no financial implications to improving the monitoring of the service to our users.
Recommendations
Based on these findings no changes to the existing service are recommended subject to continued monitoring and consultation.
