Waste and Recycling

 

Most rubbish we produce is either buried in landfill sites or burnt in incinerators, but this has serious effects for the environment. Landfill sites releases carbon dioxide and methane which contribute to climate change and contaminate water supplies, while incinerators pollute.

 

Transporting waste also means there are more heavy trucks on our roads, which also leads to climate change emissions.

 

At work and at home we throw away a lot which could be reused or recycled. So remember the 3Rs whenever you buy anything and before you throw it in the bin. Think:
