Community leaders' resolutions

 

Lead by example - make a promise and help save the planet and tackle climate change at home, at work or on holiday!.

 

Leaders in the community are leading by example and making a promise to help save the planet.

 

Here are some promises that our councillors have made.

 

1. I will switch off lights when I leave a room and actively encourage my staff to do the same

2. I will switch off my computer if I am going to be away from my desk for more than an hour, and encourage my staff to do the same

3. I will ensure that green issues are on all team meetings and agendas and that we are taking action to 'green' our workplaces

4. I will use the stairs not the lift

5. I will use my car less and sustainable transport more

6. I will buy fair trade and encourage my staff to have a fair trade tea club

7. I promise I will turn the tap off when I brush my teeth

8. I promise to use a reusable bag when I shop, rather than plastic carriers

9. I promise I will boil only the water I need, rather than filling the kettle every time

10. I promise that I will pay back the environmental impact of any air travel I take
