Parent Support Advisers

Parent Support Advisers are based in schools. Their aim is to raise educational attainment and aspirations and lower truancy figures and exclusions by supporting both you and your child.

Barking and Dagenham has contracted the voluntary sector organisation School-Home Support to provide Parent Support Advisers in our schools for 2008-2009.

Parent Support Advisers will aim to support and help you in the following ways:

Encourage you to get involved in your child's education
Offer support with your child's behaviour
Provide you with access to parenting programmes
Provide opportunities for parents to access adult education
Mediate between school and home
Help you to find other services you may need to support your child
