Support for parents with children with additional needs

 

What are additional needs?

A child, young person or adult has additional needs when they have:

Childcare and early education

Family Information Service|

This service offers help in finding childcare which can support your child's specific needs.

 

Inclusion Grant|

This grant is to support the development and use of inclusive childcare places for disabled children from birth to 16 years.

 

Portage and Early Support|

Barking and Dagenham Portage works with very young children who have additional needs and their families. Working with a family soon after the baby's birth.

 

Pre-school Learning Alliance|

Pre-school Learning Alliance works to enable the inclusion of children with additional needs in their local pre-school, crèche or day nursery.

 

Parenting support

There are Sensory Rooms at the following Children's Centres for parents / carers, children and early years workers to enjoy.

 

Support for deaf parents

Deaf Parenting UK|

A central resource of information for deaf parents and professionals working with deaf parents.

 

Leisure activities

Inclusion Grant|

This grant is to support the development and use of inclusive childcare places for disabled children from birth to 16 years.

Shining Stars|

Our club will offer fun, inclusion and support to disabled children and their families in Barking and Dagenham.

 

Transport

Inclusion grant|

This grant is to support the development and use of inclusive childcare places for disabled children from birth to 16 years.

 

School transport|

In some cases students with a special educational need or a disability can apply for travel support to help towards the cost of travel to school.
