Education Otherwise is the education of school age children in locations other than school. This includes any arrangements for the education of a child at home.
For such arrangements to be deemed satisfactory, by the local authority, there are stringent standards to be met.
It is the responsibility of the parents, carers, or legal guardians, to ensure these standards are achieved.
Any decision to educate your child through education otherwise should be based on careful consideration of your child's best interests and welfare and your ability to provide a suitable and efficient education.
The Access and Attendance Team help to ensure that education otherwise arrangements are appropriate and they can also help parents to enrol their child at a school.
