Community Educational Psychology Service to Early Years

Contribution to Sure Start

The Community Educational Psychology Service has had an ongoing commitment to working with pre-school children promoting children's positive progress through early identification and intervention.

The Community Educational Psychology Service currently contributes to Sure Start Projects / Children's Centres in Thames View, Marks Gate, Abbey and Gascoigne areas and will be involved with the new Children's Centres as they open.

The Community Educational Psychology Service can provide the following services to Sure Start projects:

Initial Phase

Input to the management structure, as required, including process consulting and joint planning
Joint facilitation of community liaison groups to enable definition of priorities and approaches
Support for research and evaluation projects

2nd Phase

Support in promoting and facilitating multidisciplinary work in the assessment and monitoring of young children's development
Direct services, including consultation, to families, settings and other professionals in the community
Training
Support in the development and facilitation of parent workshops and initiatives
