Training for Childcare Providers

Integrated Family Services

Application process

As courses are available on a first come, first served basis, you should apply for a course at the earliest possible opportunity.

Please complete an application form (Word logo Word 63K) to for every training course you wish to apply for. When the application form(s) is complete please send them to the Training Team.

You can do this by emailing the application forms to the Training Team at training7@lbbd.gov.uk or alternatively by post using the contact address shown.

You will receive a letter of confirmation, please keep this in a safe place as no further reminders will be sent.

Best practice for attending courses

Please do not arrive for a course if you have not applied for it. Numbers are limited on these courses for both quality and safety reasons.

If you are unable to attend a course that you have been booked on, please notify the Training Team by email or telephone as soon as possible.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a course, we will give you as much notice as possible and try to re-schedule the training.

Childcare

If you need childcare facilities in order to allow you to attend training there are 3 options:

Firstly you can use a registered childminder, please contact Family Information Service for help with this. The childminder needs to be paid by the parent and a receipt obtained. The Early Years and Childcare Service will not pay childminders directly.

The receipt should be sent with a completed Childcare Expense Claim Form (Word logo Word 135K) to Joanne Dunn (at the same address). The parent or carer will then be reimbursed by cheque.

Please note: This form can only be used to claim for childcare with a registered childminder while you attend training.

Applying for accredited courses

For longer accredited courses offered by Barking and Dagenham College, The Adult College and Harmony House, you will need to apply directly to that provider.

A list of contact telephone numbers can be found in section 4 of the Training Manual.
