These are English classes for speakers of other languages. To join, an assessment must be first done to determine what level of support is required. The assessments take place at the Sue Bramley Children's Centre or the Thames View Advice Centre. There are crèche facilities available.

These are IT taster courses with classes to suit all levels. You can complete 3 modules, which will gain you a CLAIT 2006 qualification.
Alternatively, you can study up to 2 single modules, which will award you with units towards CLAIT 2006. It is advised that you specify whether you wish to study for CLAIT 2006 or single modules upon registration. There are crèche facilities available.

This is a 'Skills for Life' course leading up to an accredited GCSE level qualification in literacy for those people who do not have a GCSE grade A to G in English. You will be assessed to determine the appropriate level of support required.
Entry 1, 2 and 3 are taught at the Sue Bramley Children's Centre, where you will have help to improve reading, writing and spelling skills. You may then proceed to Level 1 and 2 (known as the 'Move on Project'), which take place at the Adult College of Barking and Dagenham.
A level 2 pass in the national test is the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in English. Crèche facilities are available.

Sue Bramley Children's Centre acts as an intermediary service for Job Centre Plus. Here, a Job Centre Plus adviser can offer a wide selection of services to enable you to find employment. Please be aware that eligibility is based on living within the Thames ward of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and meetings are arranged by appointment only. Crèche facility is available for those accessing the service.
