Dagenham Heathway is the borough's second town centre. A regeneration strategy was adopted in May 2005 which proposes:
The Heathway through Dagenham Dock down to the River Thames has been identified by the London Mayor, Ken Livingstone, as one of the 100 important public spaces in London where improvements to the street can add real value to the quality of peoples' lives.
We are working with consultants on proposals to improve the public realm (public open spaces) around the Heathway. The improvements include:
