London Riverside Employment Area Signage and Identity Strategy
The London Riverside Action Group have appointed consultants to produce a Signage and Identity Strategy for the employment areas in London Riverside (River/Thames Road, the A13, Dagenham Dock, Beam Reach, Fairview and Ferry Lane). The objectives set out in their brief are:
- To help create a visual identity and assist in creating a sense of place for London Riverside's employment areas as a whole whilst also creating distinct variations for each specific employment area
- Raise local awareness of London Riverside and the regeneration agenda
- Aid with directions/awareness of employment areas
- Help businesses feel part of a wider employment area - it is
- Recognised the problems of crime and security are substantially minimised where local businesses work together
- Assist inward investment opportunities
- Have synergy with other projects (for example Dagenham Dock infrastructure project, Creekmouth to Castle Green study and Ferry Lane Framework)
Consultants (led by Deborah Saunt and David Hills Architects (DSDHA)) produced the Strategy in early 2005 and the first phase of implementation was completed by March 2006. The Strategy has since been updated with photographs of the first phase of implementation. The Strategy is available to download below.

Funding for the project came from London Riverside Single Regeneration Budget and Gateway to London's European Regional Development Fund funding. It is hoped to continue with further phases of implementation subject to securing funding.
