Barking Family Reading Chain

If you would like to join the Reading Chain, please call in to Barking Children's Library, fill in a special Book Chain form and hand it in at the counter. The information you give will help us choose a mystery book most suited to your child's age and interests. We can start you off as soon as possible.

It's for children of any age and their parents
It's easy and it's fun
We give you a 'mystery book' to read. The book will have a Reading Chain comments slip in it
Use the comments slip to tell us what you thought of the book (it's okay not to like it)
Bring the book back with the comments slip. We give you a new 'mystery book' and your old one is passed on to another reader for their comments
If you are too young to read, you can share the book with your parent or carer, tell them what you think and get them to fill in the Reading Chain Slip
Parents - you can read the book too and tell us what you thought of it - your views might be totally different from your child's. You can have your own 'mystery book' too!
