Joining Barking and Dagenham Libraries is quick, easy and free. Membership also gives full membership rights in the following London Boroughs (subject to local terms in operation in each authority): Brent, Enfield, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Wandsworth.
You will need 2 forms of identification, both of which must be current:
Simply fill in the online application form or pick up an application form at any library. Children will need a parent or guardian's signature.
Children of all ages are welcome to join the library. If you are aged 15 and under then a parent or guardian's signature is required.
Borrow up to 12 items. There are no fees or fines on books or books on tape and CD. Charges and fines apply to music tapes, CDs, DVDs, videos and language courses.
You can keep items for:
A fee is charged for borrowing music tapes and CDs, videos, DVDs and language courses. However, if you take out a subscription to the music library you can borrow 4 items, either cassettes and CDs at no further cost.
Fines are charged on overdue items but you can renew items in person, by telephone, post, email, fax, or online if they are not reserved.
