Baldwin known as 'the Chaplin', possibly the first vicar of Dagenham, although nothing is known of the parish he served. In this year, he was involved in a dispute about land belonging to the church. During Baldwin's tenure in the early 1200s, the chancel of St Peter and St Paul's Church was built
