Public Art in Barking and Dagenham

Dagenham Dock power sub station

Jason Bruges Studio has been commissioned by the London Development Agency and Scottish and Southern Electricity to design a new electricity sub power station at Dagenham Dock.

Jason is proposing digital light installations, artistic fencing and buffer zones, to create a spectacular landmark within the new development, whilst ensuring that the proposed residential developments nearby are faced with an attractive and engaging feature.

This commission has been an exciting opportunity for the borough as we have the opportunity to see artists engaged in new and interesting commissions as a result of the support from our development partners.

Through this commission, the London Development Agency and Scottish and Southern Electricity are supporting our ambitions for a connective tissue of public arts and visible creativity across the borough, in both the new and older areas.
