There are a number of ways you can get involved with the Olympics in Barking and Dagenham.
We are looking to recruit a minimum of 500 local people to get involved in a number of volunteering opportunities.
These range from:
By becoming a volunteer, not only will you be helping your local community but you could acquire new skills which could lead to you being selected as a volunteer at the London 2012 Olympics.
All borough volunteers will be encouraged to register as a 2012 Volunteer with the London 2012 Organising Committee.
The borough will provide each volunteer with a Volunteering Record Book so that volunteers can demonstrate that they have had experience of working at sporting and large events.
As volunteer training becomes available via the London 2012 organisers, the borough will actively seek to ensure that these opportunities are made available to our borough volunteers, again ensuring that local people gain the skills needed to be part of the London 2012 experience.
So if you would like to be part of our aim to make Barking and Dagenham the Gateway to the Games, and would like to become one of our volunteers please complete the application form and we will look forward to welcoming you on board.
