Kelsey Richards - Swimming

Kelsey is 14 years old and has been swimming competitively for 4 years to National Standard. Kelsey trains between 16-18 hours per week.

Currently, Kelsey is the overall 14 year old girl Essex County Amateur Swimming Association Champion, having won 9 individual gold medals, 2 silvers and 1 bronze at the recent Championships. She also holds the Essex Age Group Event Best Time in the 800m Freestyle for 14 year old girls.

Kelsey has achieved 2 National Qualifying times this season and is hoping to add at least another 3 events before the end of the season.

Kelsey is currently one of the athletes selected for the England Talent Development Program due to her performance in last years National Championships.

She continues to train hard and is looking forward to the London Regions and National Championships later on this season. Kelsey currently supports the borough in both swimming and aquathlon at the London Youth Games.

Her long term ambition is to be selected for the 2012 Olympic squad.
