Grant is 16 years of age and has been swimming competitively for 7 years now. Grant trains for between 18 and 20 hours a week.
In 2005 and 2006 Grant took the silver medal for the 200 metres Butterfly at the National Age Group Championships.
Due to these results he earned a place on British Swimming's World Class Age Programme.
Grant was awarded top boy at both the London and Essex events in 2006 and also top boy at Essex in 2007, this included a number of individual titles including 3 event best times. He was selected to swim for Essex at the National Inter-County Championships in 2006 and 2007.
He was also selected by Essex to attend overseas training camps in 2004, 2005 and 2006 - the last one being in Cyprus. He also continues to support the borough swimming at the London Youth Games.
During 2007 he qualified for the British Swimming Championships at Manchester with 2 events (100m and 200m Butterfly).
Grant has earned selection on this year's ASA English Talent Identification Programme (2007-2008).
He is also Essex Junior 200 metres Individual Medley Champion.
Grant continues to train hard and continues to collect medals for his performances in the London and Essex events, and also has gained a National qualifying time enabling him to swim at this year's (2008) National Youth Championships.
Grant has a strong competitive spirit and is friendly by nature, which makes him a valuable integral member of Romford Town Swimming Club.
His long term ambition is to be selected for the Great Britain Squad.
