Frankie is 18 years of age and has been competing in the sport for 11 years.
Frankie is currently a competitor for the British Under 20's men's team. And is ranked 3rd in Great Britain for his weight category (Under 90 kilograms).
He spent the majority of last year out with a serious shoulder injury needing a major operation. Along with this he required further surgery to both his calves as he was suffering from severe cramps when training. March to December 2007 was spent recovering from both operations.
This was a very stressful time for Frankie as he had to remain to a non-active state for 8 months, gained 9 kilograms in weight and mentally was very challenging. When Frankie finally started training again in December 2007 and managed to get back down to his natural weight in under 2 months through following a high intense fitness and strength programme.
Frankie's first competition back was the Junior British closed event in January 2008. Achieving a bronze medal at this event, ranking him 3rd in Great Britain and also qualifying for a place in the under 20 GB men's Team. The next big event was the under 20 Midland ranking event in February 2008. Where again he achieved a bronze medal, holding his 3rd place ranking.
This year Frankie will be competing in many more competitions abroad to gain further experience when fighting at international events, This includes Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and more. Frankie's main target is to improve on his overall ranking in Great Britain.
