Talented athletes of Barking and Dagenham

Bonne Buwembo - Athletics Javelin

Bonne is 18 years of age and started throwing the javelin at the age of 14 after being introduced to it at the local athletics club and it soon turned into a passion. Bonne went on to win many titles and break a National record at under 15.

Bonne continues to work hard in training and has a dream of making the team for the Olympics in 2012 and beyond. Some of the titles he has held are Amateur Athletic Association of England's champion 2004 and 2005, Essex Champion 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, English Schools Senior champion 2007, South of England U17 champion 2005 and U20 Champion 2007 he also won the UK School Games in 2006.

Bonne was ranked number 2 in the UK in 2007 as a first year in the U20 Age Group. He is hoping to take the number 1 ranking in the UK for 2008 and also hopes to gain a Great Britain U20 vest.
