One of the longest-running in the south-east of England, our parade is more than 50 years old.
The parade in previous years has been going from strength to strength, thanks to the dedication of the organisers and help from sponsors.
The parade is judged by an independent panel from outside of the borough at around 12pm at Old Dagenham Park. It sets off at around 1.30pm to arrive in the Central Park arena for around 3pm on Saturday 19 July 2008.
This year the parade's theme is 'The Olympics the springboard to success in Barking and Dagenham' so expect some wonderful sets and colourful costumes following world traditions, cultures, colour and sports. The theme ties in with the Beijing Olympics and the exciting run up to London 2012.
Around 1,000 youngsters will form a vibrant bustling procession including local dance troupes, schools and clubs, voluntary groups and local businesses.
Money raised during the parade goes to the Mayor's Charities for 2008-2009.
