Help us make a difference

We are keen to set up scrutiny panels reflecting equalities, diversity, political balance and outside representation. We need volunteers to work with councillors and Council officers to make a positive difference to our borough.

The Council has a duty to scrutinise the services we provide. One way we do this is to set up scrutiny panels for specific areas, usually for a period of 3 to 6 months. Recent panels have looked at facilities for children and young people, the marketing of vacant shops, and antisocial behaviour.

If you live and/or work in Barking and Dagenham, and wish to get involved, please contact John Dawe on 020 8227 2135 to learn more.

Monday 28 January 2008.
