The table of information gives statistics about entry to reception classes to Barking and Dagenham infant and primary schools in September 2007. It includes the number of people who sent us their application forms by the closing date and shows the number of pupils given a place under each category of the 2007 admission criteria.

 

This information should give you an idea of the chance that you have of getting a place at your preferred schools.

 

Please note: The number of applications for each school and the addresses from which children are applying will be different from year to year. As a result, we cannot guarantee that the furthest distances from school for people applying for 2008 will be similar to those who applied in 2007.

 

Key

Special Educational Needs - Number of children with a full statement of special educational need for that school

Children in the care of a local authority - Number of children given a place because the child being in care of a local authority

Sibling - Number of children given a place because they have a brother or sister at that school

Neighbourhood - Number of children given a place because they live in the neighbourhood area for that school

Distance - Number of children given a place because they come under the distance category (priority)

Last place given - Distance (in kilometres) the child given the last place lives from the school

Nearest School with a Vacancy (NSV) - Number of children given that school as the nearest school to their home which had a space

 

Information

  1. Of the total applications we received by the closing date:
    • 90.5% received their 1st-preference school
    • 4% received their 2nd-preference school
    • 1.5% received their 3rd-preference school
    • 3% were given the nearest school to their home which had a place; and
    • 0.5% were not offered a place under the admissions criteria
  2. Please contact the voluntary aided schools for more information on statistics for their school
  3. The statistics for late applications refer to applications received between Saturday 10 February 2007 and Monday 3 September 2007
  4. The appeals information is based on the first round of appeals heard between Sunday 8 April 2007 and Monday 3 September 2007
