Please return your Common application form (
PDF 155K) to the Admissions and Attendance Team at the Barking Learning Centre by the closing date (Friday 15 February 2008).
You can do this in one of the following ways:
Apply online no later than midnight on Friday 15 February 2008.
Return the paper form to your child's preferred Barking and Dagenham infant or primary school by Friday 8 February 2008. This is to make sure the Admissions and Attendance Team receive it no later than Friday 15 February 2008.
Please allow time for the paper form to be delivered if you send it by post. We must receive it no later than 5pm on Friday 15 February 2008 to the Admissions and Attendance Team at the address shown.
Bring your form to the 'One Stop Shop' within the Barking Learning Centre. The centre is the new building next to the Town Hall.
Address: 2 Town Square, Barking, IG11 7NB.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am - 7pm
Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am - 5pm.
If you apply online and successfully submit your application, you will get an email confirmation and be given an application reference number. You can phone us to check that we have received your online application.
Forms received at Barking and Dagenham infant or primary schools will be recorded by the school administrator.
If you hand in your application at the Barking Learning Centre or you post your application to us, proof of posting is not proof that we have received it. If you want us to let you know that we have received your form, you must fill in the receipt slip (section 6 of the common application form) and enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope. If you do not hear from us within 14 days of posting your form, it is likely that we did not receive it. In that case, we strongly recommend that you apply online, staff can help you do this at the Barking Learning Centre. We cannot confirm over the phone that we have received your paper form.
However you apply, please keep your receipts in a safe place as you will need to show them to us if we have any questions we need to ask you.
If your child is in the care of a local authority, you must also include a letter from the social worker confirming the legal status of the child and the local authority that the child is in the care of. The letter should also provide the reasons for the preferences of the schools you have listed.
Send your common application form to the Admissions and Attendance Team, or apply online by the closing date.
You and your parish priest must fill in all of the relevant sections of the priest's reference form so your priest can send the form to the voluntary aided schools you have applied to.
You must also send photocopies of your child's birth certificate, baptism (except for St Margaret's school), proof of your and your child's address to the relevant school by Friday 15 February 2008. Send this information together with the name of the parish and the priest you have given your priest's reference form to and the date you gave it to them.
Please do not send original documents as they will not be returned.
