The Right Secondary School 2010

What you need to do

  1. Collect information about Barking and Dagenham schools to help you decide your preferences. Visit other London authorities admissions sections websites for information about schools in other boroughs
  2. Go to one of the admission meetings. These meetings will give you independent advice about the admissions process
  3. Visit the schools to see for yourself what they can offer, by attending the Barking and Dagenham schools open mornings or open evenings
  4. Study the information on the Statistical information sheet (PDF logo PDF 54K), which shows statistics from last year's applications for Barking and Dagenham schools. This information should give you an idea of the chance that you have of getting a place at your preferred schools
  5. Fill in the common application form and list your preferred schools in ranking order and enclose proof of your address where necessary. Do not forget to fill in any supplementary forms for any schools that ask you to do this
  6. Finally, send your forms to the local authority or schools before the closing dates
