The report highlights the rate improvement at all Key Stages since 1997
At Key Stage 1, the rate of overall improvement is above the national trend and is well above the national trend for Key Stage 2. From 1997 to 2000 it was the fastest in the country for Key Stage 2.
At Key Stage 3, improvement is in line with the national trend in English and above this in maths and well above in science.
The achievement at GCSE level showed the 4th highest rate of improvement of all local education authority's for the 5 GCSE A*-C results in 2000 and at A Level standard the improvement is again in line with the national trend.
