As a school governor, Building Schools for the Future gives you an important role in defining the education vision and long-term strategy for your school, enabling you to be sure that those things that are most important to your school are given high priority.
Whether you wish to consider federating with another school, becoming a foundation or trust school, or have ideas about how your school can become an extended school, Building Schools for the Future encourages you to work with the local authority to look at your school and how it fits into the whole picture of education provision in the area.
Throughout the project, from defining the Strategy for Change for your area, to moving into your new or remodelled school - the local authority will provide the support and guidance needed to achieve a successful end result with minimum disruption to day-to-day teaching and learning.
The Building Schools for the Future approach is intended to provide high quality construction and services fit for delivering education in the 21st century, within clearly-defined timescales and excellent value for money.
