Moving from primary to secondary school 2011
If your child was born between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2000, you can apply for a secondary school now. You can apply online.
The closing date for online forms is midnight Sunday 31 October 2010.
The admissions procedure and criteria are outlined in the 'The Right Secondary School web pages'. Please make sure you read and understand the information in these pages before you apply.
If you are applying for a place at All Saints Catholic School and Technology College you will also need to fill in their Supplementary Form (
PDF 76K), called the priest reference form, and send them the documents they ask for.

Important note about proving your address
The child's address must be the permanent address where the child lives with their parents or legal guardians and where child benefit is addressed.
If your child's address on the application form is different from the address your child's Barking and Dagenham primary or junior school has on their records (as of Friday 9 July 2010), we will ask you to provide proof of where you and your child live.
Also, if your child goes to a primary or junior school outside the borough, we will need to see proof of both your address and your child's current address. In these cases, we need your original 2010-11 Council Tax bill or Council Tax Benefit letter or notice with one of the following documents to show your address:
- A utility bill (gas, electricity or water) from the last six months. We will not accept a mobile phone bill or an internet bill
- A statement from your bank or building society or a credit-card statement from the last six months
- Your current home or motor insurance certificate. This must be from the last 12 months
- Your Child Benefit entitlement letter from the HM Revenue and Customs. The name of your child, and your name and address on both these documents, must match the information on your application form

Checklist
Before applying, please make sure that you have done the following.
- Read 'The Right Secondary School web pages'
- Filled in the supplementary forms if you are applying for voluntary aided schools in or outside the borough
- Given any relevant documents the voluntary aided schools have asked for directly to the school concerned
- Given proof of address where this is needed
- Do not fill in a paper form if you apply online
Don't forget: If you do not fill in all sections of your form or you do not send the relevant documents to those who have asked for it, your form will not be processed.
